Leslie McNabb

Leslie McNabb started her Pilates training at the age of 15 while living in North Carolina. Her Pilates practice enhanced her dance training, and she eventually moved to New York City permanently to dance professionally with Joffrey Ballet.

After retiring from dance, Leslie entered the fitness industry as a customer service and operations manager for Equinox Fitness Clubs. Four years later, she moved on to help open CLAY, a new club committed to integrating Pilates into the gym atmosphere. During this time, Leslie began to teach her own unique approach to Pilates and fitness.

Leslie received her Pilates certification in 2004 through the PhysicalMind Institute in New York City. She is also a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Her education continues with her study of biomechanics through the Resistance Training Specialist program founded by Tom Purvis as well as Greg Roskopf's Muscle Activation Techniques. She is also passionate about somatic movement therapies and studies frequently with Laban Movement Analyst Lesley Powell.

Her belief in the importance of the mind-body connection while still remaining true to the hard science of exercise mechanics forms Leslie's unique approach to personalizing fitness programs for her clients. No fitness program can be exactly the same as all bodies are different. By respecting the structural and experiential uniqueness of the individual, Leslie safely challenges the body for improved performance.

Leslie is currently the Pilates Manager and a private instructor for CLAY in New York City.
