Delaine M. Wright, MS, CDE, is a certified diabetes educator and masters level clinical exercise physiologist as well as a frequent national lecturer. She is the Director of Exercise Physiology and one of the founding members of Fitness4Diabetics.com, a company providing online fitness, nutrition and wellness coaching services for clients with diabetes. She also continues to serve as Program Coordinator of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, Prevention & Wellness at South County Hospital in Wakefield, Rhode Island. She provides diabetes related patient education and support, including insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring training, to both adults and children in an outpatient setting.Delaine's experience in diabetes management and education is both personal and professional as she has been actively living with Type 1 diabetes herself since 1983. She currently manages her own diabetes via an insulin pump, and remains amazed and enthusiastic about the new technologies and treatments being developed to manage, prevent and someday cure diabetes. Delaine completed her undergraduate degree at Boston University and her master’s degree in exercise science at the University of Rhode Island. She has taught at the collegiate level in both nursing and physical education curriculums. She is a frequent author and speaker on the topics of diabetes management and exercise, cardiovascular disease treatment and prevention for persons with diabetes and insulin pump management in sport and exercise.
