This course covers the fundamental science and practical application of the foam roller in self myofascial release. From basics to advanced, Ian educates fitness professionals on all aspects of the how, when and why of the foam rollers application. Video instruction on the many muscle complexes makes using this tool easy to understand and implement with clients. Ian uses a three step systematic approach incorporating SMR with mobilizers (for more on mobilizers, check out the “Functional Movement Essentials” DVD). These are movements that eccentrically lengthen shortened muscle complexes and activate the necessary complexes to stabilize the body in movement. This three step approach allows the body move and feel better.
