Exercise Tips
Healthy Back to School ideas: 1. On Sundays do your veggie prep for the week. Veggies are great to dip in hummus or small amts of nut butter. Celery, cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, & sugar snap peas all keep well for packed lunches. 2. Make a large pot of soup or batch of whole grains to use for the week. 3. Make your own microwave popcorn- Toss 1/4 cup kernels with 1 tsp oil; staple shut in a paper brown bag. Microwave until pops are 4 secs apart. 4. Roasted Chickpeas are a healthy replacement for chips. Rinse 1 can & dry well. Drizzle oil & any spices you like. Roast for about 40 min at 400 deg. 5. Make your own 100 calorie bags-it's cheaper & healthier! 6. Involve as much of the family in choosing and preparing food as possible-in the process, they learn about healthy choices. Win-win!
